This view is all white right now. Two weeks ago, I cruised down to the bird sanctuary to capture some more photographs of wildlife. The morning was dense snow. That afternoon was Springlike with 40 knot winds blowing birds away including the Bald Eagles. I found some Trumpeter Swan huddled tightly in one cornfield. Coots hugged the leeward side of berms in the basin. Yet, I declared Spring to have arrived…the kiss of death. We have had snowfall every day since.
As a reference, the Federal Reserve is where those ridges are to the south in the picture. We do have lovely vistas here. All told we have 50,000 people in the Oregon – California Klamath Basin. Sometimes we have 1,000,000 birds and maybe 100,000 cows in the area before you.
